Weaver Construction Services, an asphalt, concrete and drainage repair and maintenance contractor, is giving back this holiday season. From October 3 to November 18, the company welcomed all non-profit religious-based organizations located in Horry County to apply for up to $5,000 worth of their services.
The recipient is North Strand Housing Shelter located in Longs, SC – a 501(c)3 who is “helping guests go from dependence to independence. An opportunity to rebuild character, integrity and sound spiritual values.”
“We were excited to kick off this initiative. There were a lot of worthy candidates and the decision was not easy.” said Jason Weaver, Co-owner/Chief Estimator, “However, we’re passionate about partnering with the team at the North Strand Housing Shelter and do just a small part in bettering the lives of the individuals and families in their care.”
The “Pavement Brothers” as they’ve been termed by customers, will assist with the North Strand Housing Shelter’s goal of preparing concrete slabs to ultimately install a shed and playground for the children of the families who stay with them.
“We are so grateful to Weaver Construction Services for their willingness to help with this project,” said Dana Black, Executive Director of North Strand Housing Shelter. “We desperately need a safe place for the shelter children to play outside and to protect items from the weather.”
The family-owned and operated construction company mainly serves large-scale communities and businesses all along the coastal Carolinas, but wanted to open the door to those that may have a need, but not enough funding to accomplish it.
